Before picture,

This horse is kept on a 6 week cycle. He is a fairly typical TB horse and this is generally what his feet look like when I show up

Notice how this horses foot is beginning to take on what is commonly called an underrun appearance. (the tell tale sign is that both the angle of the toe and heel are different) underrun heels can't be cured, but they can be affectively managed with proper hoofcare maintanance.

After picture,

This next photo shows how regularly scheduled maintenance can affectively control the underrun look of this foot.

Underrun heels,(if left unchecked) can cause a multitude of problems for horses, they can lead to painful quarter-cracks, serious flares, bruising of the sole, corns, and other illnesses that can cause an otherwise healthy horse to have a shortened carreer.
