Welcome to Justin Hills Horseshoeing
Hello, my name is Justin and I'll be your tour guide throughout these next few pages, before we move on with the tour, why don't I tell you a little bit about myself.
I attended Walla Walla Community Colleges "Farrier Science" course fresh out of high school and finished up my formal education in the spring of 1996. Immediately after getting out of school my confidence and youth were an amazing attribute that caused me to believe that I was some sort of super-farrier and a few horses got better because of it, however most of them simply managed to survive the terror that was being thrust upon them by a punk kid with a car load of tools.
After a couple of years I began to realize that shoeing a horse is alot more complex than simply "flattening them out and nailing them on" and I began to ask myself "why" (which, by the way, I think is a great question)
As I began to search for answers it seemed as though all I found were more and more questions and before long (about 5 years) I came to the realization that farriery is a heck of lot bigger than one man can understand, and at that moment I realized that my education had only just began.
It has been almost 15 years since I began this journey as a farrier, and 10 years since I realized that nobody, is as prepared to learn from the horse, as much as the horse himself is prepared to teach.
Now, "On with the tour."
